Home Boarding

1. Boarding fees are charged for each day, all outstanding fees must be paid in full on or before the time of delivery. In the case of where we deliver your pet/pets all outstanding fees must be paid upon collection.
If your payment is withdrawn or bounced you accept full liability for any bank charges incurred. You further agree that H&H Dog Training may at their discretion charge an administration fee of 30% of any outstanding balance, if they have to chase the debt. Should the stay be extended for any reason, extra days will be charged at the daily rate. If the stay is curtailed, the full price remains payable, but H&H Dog Training, (at their discretion), may offer a refund for unused days, except during busy periods where it is not possible to re-allocate the accommodation.

2. A No-Show is the term used for a booking where you have failed to present your pet/pets for boarding within 48 hours of the first day of your booking. In this instance you agree that your booking may be cancelled. You further agree that you will be liable in full for all boarding fees and agree to pay on receipt of our invoice.

3. All pets boarded must be fully vaccinated, and a current certificate of vaccination must accompany each pet. Failure to provide a valid vaccination card for each pet will prevent them from boarding. In this instance your booking may be cancelled but you will remain liable for the boarding fees in full.

4. Your pet must also be wearing an identity tag with their address and telephone number on it, whilst staying at H&H Dog Training.

5. As H&H Dog Training is a home boarding service, if your dog becomes destructed or aggressive during their stay we reserve the right to contact your emergency contact and ask that they come and collect your dog. If this is not possible H&H Dog Training reserve the right to put your pet into secure external kennels.

6.External kennelling will incur extra costs at the external kennels with transportation fees also incurred. Failure to disclose correct information with regards to your pets behaviour that results in an injury, accident or damage will result (at the discretion of H&H Dog Training ) in additional costs for either repair, restoration or other professional costs for example veterinary bills which will NOT be covered by H&H Dog Training insurance.

7. THE OWNER accepts that a veterinary surgeon will be called if H&H Dog Training think it necessary & any resulting fees will be payable by THE OWNER at time of collection.

8. If your pet becomes ill whilst in our care and our veterinary surgeon thinks the pet illness may be contagious H&H Dog Training will contact you and ask that your emergency contact provided will take the pet into their care. THE OWNER will have agreed this with their chosen emergency contact before the pet comes into H&H Dog Training’s care.

9. During the period of boarding, H&H Dog Training will exercise every possible care and attention to the welfare and safety of the pet, However H&H Dog Training accepts no responsibility for problems outside of their control.

10. KENNEL COUGH
This is caused by an airborne infection and thus outside the control of H&H Dog Training. H&H Dog Training will never knowingly accept a dog with the condition, but as incubation can exceed 10 days it may not be detectable prior to arrival. THE OWNER therefore accepts that this hazard exists, especially at busy times.
We recommend vaccination again Kennel Cough before your dogs stay, but as this is a virus very like the common cold and there are many strains, please be aware that your dog may still be vulnerable.

11. We ask that THE OWNER informs us of ANY illnesses or medical conditions at the time of the ‘meet and greet’ on the booking form and at the dogs’ delivery for their stay. H&H Dog Training reserve the right to refuse taking a dog that is unwell or has a contagious illness. H&H Dog Training requests that THE OWNER informs us of any illnesses and we can work together with THE OWNER’s vet to make an assessment on the dog’s health. H&H Dog Training reserve the right to cancel any booking if they feel a dog may be carrying a contagious illness.
This policy is so strict because H&H Dog Training care about their own and every visiting dog in their care. If H&H Dog Training were to knowingly accept a sick dog into their care, they risk putting all other dogs at risk and each other owner incurring veterinary fees.
This does not apply to dogs who require the administration of medication for non contagious conditions, whilst in H&H Dog Training’s care.

Dog Grooming

All clients are required to complete and sign the Declaration form. All your data is confidential and will not be shared with any third party. Please inform us of any changes in your pet’s health or temperament or your personal details to allow us to continue to provide a service tailored to your pet’s need’s.

YOUR PET’S HEALTH AND WELFARE

Whilst your pet is in our care its health and welfare is our primary concern. It will only ever be groomed according to it’s tolerance of the process. If your pet is fearful of any of the procedures employed during grooming, a workaround or alternative will be employed.
Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. We will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming.

GROOM FEEDBACK

You will be given detailed feedback after every groom. If you have any queries or need further clarification, please just ask or contact us at a later stage. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom please let us know before we leave. Reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with immediately or changes noted for the next groom. We are more than happy to disclose any details of your pet’s groom or advise you about how best to care for your pet’s coat.

PRICING

Starting prices are for pets:

  • That are used to being professionally groomed on a regular schedule (a MINIMUM of once per season, 4 times per year depending on breed)
  • Whose coats are well maintained between professional grooms (kept tangle, knot & matt free by regular brushing or combing)

You can reasonably expect to pay more than the starting price for:

  • Matted, poorly maintained &/or overgrown coats
  • Pets which are difficult to manage or uncooperative during grooming
  • Overweight pets or oversized for the breed standard
  • Timid, anxious or nervous pets, which require frequent breaks & may need special handling

These cost more time, labor &/or product. The costs are passed on to you. If we are unable to complete a groom due to behavioral problems or aggression you will be charged the starting price of the groom. All costs are payable in full before we leave.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the H&H Dog Grooming website, Facebook or other printed materials.  Please let us know if you prefer you pet not to be photographed.

CANCELLING YOUR DOG’S APPOINTMENT

We respectfully request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your pet’s appointment. The slot can then be resold.

NO-SHOWS & LATE CANCELLATIONS

(of less 24hrs notice).  A fee of 50% of your usual groom price will be levied for missed appointments and late cancellations. A non-refundable deposit of the starting price of the groom will be levied to secure a new appointment slot. If you incur any of the above mentioned fees, they are payable in full before booking your dog’s next appointment.

NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS

In the event that your pet’s coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, H&H Dog Grooming is not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk.
Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at our discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (clause 5 – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering).  De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn’t possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat.
You will be given an estimate of how long matt release is likely to take & an estimated cost for the procedure.  A shave down consumes significantly more time, labour, product & tool/equipment wear and tear than a routine trim therefore will incur an extra charge.  All shave down costs are payable in full at the time when we returning your pet.

AGGRESSIVE & POORLY SOCIALISED DOGS: THE DANGEROUS DOGS ACT

We reserve the right to refuse to groom any pet at risk of harming itself or one of our staff. If your dog is accepted for grooming & displays aggression that we have not been informed of during its session, the groom will be terminated immediately. You will be contacted to collect it. The full starting price of the groom will be levied.
You must inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.

Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs.
