Why Our Home Dog Boarding Is a Kinder, Calmer Alternative to Kennels

By H&H Dog Training – North West London

Let’s be honest—leaving your dog when you go away can be stressful. Whether it’s a weekend trip or a longer holiday, you want to know they’re safe, well cared for, and—most importantly—happy.

At H&H Dog Training, we offer a different kind of dog boarding—cosy, calm, and only for dogs we already know and walk regularly. We’re based right here in North West London and spend our days walking the dogs of Hampstead, Belsize Park, Highgate, and around the Heath—so we really do become part of your dog’s extended family.

A Home, Not a Kennel

Our home dog boarding isn’t a big business or a packed facility. We welcome a very small number of dogs into our own home—always dogs we already walk and know well. That means your dog stays in a familiar environment, with familiar faces, routines, and even doggy friends they already trust.

There are no cages, no concrete floors, and no overwhelming noise—just comfy beds, gentle routines, and plenty of love.

Why Our Dogs Love Staying With Us

🐾 They Already Know Us

Because we only board dogs who are part of our regular walking group, your dog isn’t staying with a stranger. They know our voice, our scent, and our rhythms—which makes settling in so much easier.

🐾 It Feels Just Like Home

Dogs stay in a real home with sofas, quiet corners, and a garden to potter in. They nap where they like, get lots of fuss, and follow the same routine they’re used to with us during walks.

🐾 Small Numbers = Big Love

We keep numbers low on purpose. It’s better for everyone—calmer, quieter, and safer. Your dog won’t be one of ten or fifteen—they’ll be one of two or three, max. That means more cuddles, more attention, and more personalised care.

🐾 Daily Hampstead Heath Walks

We’re lucky to have Hampstead Heath as our backyard. Dogs in our care get the same beautiful walks they love during the week—whether it’s chasing squirrels, sniffing trails, or strolling through the woods.

🐾 Perfect for Sensitive or Older Dogs

If your dog is a bit shy, nervous, or just not suited to busy kennels, home boarding can make all the difference. There’s no pressure, no chaos—just calm companionship in a space they feel safe.

Why We Only Board Dogs We Walk

We’ve made a conscious choice to only offer home boarding to dogs we walk regularly. Why?

Because trust matters—for your dog and for us. When we’ve built a relationship over months of walks, we know how your dog likes to rest, play, eat, and unwind. And they know us too. That bond makes boarding feel natural and stress-free, not like being dropped off somewhere strange.

It’s not about turning away new dogs—it’s about keeping the experience safe, comfortable, and genuinely personal.

Heading Away Soon?

If you’re already part of the H&H walking family and need boarding, just let us know as early as you can. Spaces fill up quickly (because we keep it small for a reason!), but we’ll always do our best to help.

And if you’re looking for regular walks, we’d love to meet you. Once your dog is part of the walking crew, they’ll have the option to stay with us when needed—whether it’s a night or a week.

Because at H&H, we’re more than a service. We’re neighbours, dog lovers, and your pup’s second family.
